Resumo: Condoms are the only contraceptive method that can prevent sexually transmitted infections, and their use needs to be encouraged by providing information on their benefits and mode of use. Deafness promotes communication barrier that hinders the acquisition of knowledge necessary for your health. Creation of assistive technologies for this public regarding condom use is an important step towards achieving sexual and reproductive health. The objective was to validate assistive technology in the educational video modality for deaf people about sexual health and condom use. A multi-method study, conducted from January 2018 to July 2019, which initially constructed and validated educational video on sexual health and condom use, then used the quasi-experimental method for technology application. The first phase was based on the educational video construction model and followed three steps. In pre-production, there was construction and validation by script specialists, in production was made audio recording and narration in Libras and development of animation, and in post-production final edition of the video in animation. Simultaneously to the construction and validation of the script, there was the development of pre and post-test questions that were evaluated by experts regarding the relevance and classification of the degree of difficulty in easy, medium and difficult. After the development of the technology, it was applied to the target public in a deaf school in the city of Fortaleza, Ceará. The video, lasting nine minutes and 25 seconds, covered topics relevant to the correct and consistent use of condoms, male and female. It is noteworthy that this script was validated by specialists in sexual and reproductive health, with agreement greater than 80% regarding the objectives, structure and presentation and relevance of the construct. The effectiveness of the technology was verified with the significant increase in hits after video viewing, with an average of 4.74 right questions in the pretest to 7.22 in the posttest, and knowledge increase was observed in the ten questions, being statistically significant. It was concluded that the construction and validation of accessible educational video for the deaf was effective to promote knowledge, being accessible and necessary for this population.

Pagliuca, Lorita Marlena FreitagÁfio, Aline Cruz Esmeraldo2020-01-21T18:07:55Z2020-01-21T18:07:55Z2019-09-30info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/doctoralThesisapplication/pdfÁFIO, A.
