Resumo: The present work sought to understand the relations between the human being and the clothing from a symbolic-representative perspective. The object of the survey were pieces of clothing preserved by loved ones of deceased persons. Exploring the concept of memory, he focused on the individual aspect, emphasizing memory as an instrument of preservation of the past, from the narratives. The speeches revealed the different relationships that can be established with the clothes and also the way the clothes embody memories and express the individuality of the wearer.
