Resumo: This paper is triggered by the desire to consider the aesthetic experience from an intimate contamination with social and political life. We try to raise theoretical and methodological observations about the connective relation of the image with some forces that exceed it. We work with the notion of ‘return’ to think, on the one hand, about how a film returns to the filmed people and, on the other, how it moves towards the spectator. Our scope is a recent Brazilian production that requests expressive resources from fiction to narrate experiences intimately connected to life. This fictional strategy is placed here as a fundamental possibility of engagement of the people faced by filmic writing. The analysis is dedicated to the films “A vizinhança do tigre” (“The Hidden Tiger”, by Affonso Uchoa, 2014) and “Branco sai preto fica” (“White out, Black In”, by Adirley Queirós, 2014).

Tentamos levantar algumas observações teórico-metodológicas sobre a relação conectiva da imagem com algumas forças que a excedem. Trabalhamos com a noção de devolução, para pensar, de um lado, como um filme se devolve aos sujeitos filmados e, de outro, como ele se desloca rumo ao espectador. Nosso escopo é uma produção brasileira recente que solicita recursos expressivos da ficção para narrar experiências intimamente ligadas ao vivido. Essa estratégia ficcional se insere aqui como uma possibilidade fundamental de engajamento dos sujeitos interpelados pela escritura do filme.
