MULTITEMPORAL ANALYSIS OF THE URBAN EXPANSION OF THE CITY OF MANAUS, AMAZONAS, USING SATELLITE IMAGES

Resumo: The present work approaches the use and occupation of land in the city of Manaus - AM, thus, orbital images were used that show the evolution of the event. The term (use and occupation) can be understood as the way in which space is being occupied by man, which has occurred since the beginning of human life. Man is a transforming agent and modifier of space, through the use of elements of nature, which serve for its survival. In Manaus, the anthropic actions and changes in the landscape stood out from two moments: Rubber Cycle and Manaus Free Trade Zone. Although these events occurred in different times, they contributed to population growth and brought changes in the way of use and the way of occupying urban land.

El término (uso y ocupación) puede entenderse como la forma en que el hombre ocupa el espacio, lo que ha ocurrido desde el comienzo de la vida humana. El hombre es un agente transformador y modificador del espacio, a través del uso de elementos de la naturaleza, que sirven para su supervivencia. En Manaus, las acciones antrópicas y los cambios en el paisaje se destacaron en dos momentos: Ciclo del caucho y Zona Franca de Manaus. Si bien estos eventos ocurrieron en diferentes épocas, contribuyeron al crecimiento de la población y trajeron cambios en la forma de uso y en la forma de ocupar el suelo urbano.O presente trabalho faz uma abordagem sobre o uso e ocupação da terra na cidade de Manaus - AM, assim, foram utilizadas imagens orbitais que mostram a evolução do evento. O termo (uso e ocupação) pode ser entendido como a forma pela qual o espaço está sendo ocupado pelo homem, que ocorre desde os primórdios da vida humana. O homem é um agente transformador e modificador do espaço, através da utilização dos elementos da natureza, os quais servem para a sua sobrevivência. Em Manaus, as ações antrópicas e mudanças na paisagem destacaram-se a partir de dois momentos: Ciclo da Borracha e Zona Franca de Manaus.
