Formative Itineraries in the Brazilian National Common Core Curriculum (BNCC): meanings in digital media

Resumo: | The aim of this article is to analyze the inscribed discourse in digital materialities about the Brazilian National Curricular Commom Base (BNCC) for High School education, with focus on the Formative Itineraries. It is theoretically based on the assumptions of Pêcheux’s Discourse Analysis; and applies notions as discourse, subject-position, logically stabilized discourse and silencing. The corpus is constituted of six discursive materialities: two fragments of the BNCC about the Itineraries; three discursive cuts of a news article about the BNCC/Itineraries; and a print of five comments about the report. The results point out that the discourse on the BNCC/Itineraries works with effects of flexibility of the curriculum and freedom of choice for students; however, in these sayings there are also others that are left unsaid. Therefore, other meanings are silenced, such as regional diversities; social inequality; absence of proper government policies for education; precarious working conditions, as well as others social circumstances that interfere in the dynamics of the Itineraries and influence the educational process. The meanings move on/in the digital media networks and, in this discursive functioning, it is possible to observe that the governmental discourse, in agreement with the pedagogical discourse, tend to impose a subject- position defender of the BNCC, with meaning effects that the document orientations can bring solutions to the educational problems in the country; however, as the language imply in failure, discursive confrontations, resistance and contestation are also established in networks; after all, as Pêcheux (2014c) says, the meaning canalways be other. |
