THE TEACHING PRACTICE IN GRADUATE SCHOOL UNDER THE SIGN OF JANUS: Culture, knowledge and tiredness

Resumo: In this article, aspects of the teaching practice in graduate school related to culture, knowledge and work processes in Brazil´s present time are analyzed. The text aims to apprehend how the teaching practice in graduate school is constituted, based on the analysis of the results of two qualitative researches, undertaken in the form of multiple case study, entailing university professors from all over the country. The results ´ comparison allows us to highlight new elements of the work culture in a context of accelerating rhythms of personal and professional life, of knowledge production and immersion in elements of digital culture. In this context, the teaching practice in graduate school presents, like the mythological character Janus, ambivalences and ambiguities.

El texto tiene como objetivo aprehender cómo se constituye el trabajo docente en la escuela de posgrado, a partir del análisis de los resultados de dos investigaciones cualitativas, realizadas con profesores universitarios de todo el país. La comparación de resultados nos permite resaltar nuevos elementos de la cultura laboral en un contexto de ritmos acelerados de la vida personal y laboral, de producción de conocimiento e inmersión en elementos de la cultura digital. En este contexto, la docencia en la escuela de posgrado presenta, como el personaje mitológico Jano, ambivalencias y ambigüedades.Neste artigo são analisados aspectos da docência na pós-graduação do Brasil no tempo presente, relacionados à cultura, conhecimento e processos de trabalho. O texto tem por objetivo apreender como se constitui o trabalho docente na pós-graduação, com base na análise de resultados de duas pesquisas qualitativas, empreendidas na forma de estudo de caso múltiplo, envolvendo professores universitários de todo o país. A comparação dos resultados permite evidenciar novos elementos da cultura de trabalho em um contexto de aceleração de ritmos de vida pessoal e laboral, de produção do conhecimento e de imersão em elementos da cultura digital.
