Resumo: The teaching of Physics presents certain challenges for secondary school teachers, especially when the topic deals with very abstract concepts. The use of computers and, particularly, the computer simulation has been stimulated as a teaching resource to facilitate student learning, since the visualization of a phenomenon in a graphical environment can provide better understanding. This article presents an analysis of the use of a simulation model discrete event of a fusion nuclear reaction to support learning in high school classes. The use of the simulation model, associated with a previous class led to an increase in the number of correct answers of questions related to the theme of the lesson, especially when questions have increased the degree of difficulty.

O ensino da disciplina de Física apresenta certos desafios para professores do Ensino Médio, principalmente quando o tema aborda conceitos muito abstratos. A utilização da informática e, particularmente, da simulação computacional tem sido estimulada como recurso didático de modo a facilitar o aprendizado dos alunos, uma vez que a visualização de um fenômeno em um ambiente gráfico pode proporcionar melhor compreensão. Este artigo apresenta uma análise da utilização de um modelo de simulação a eventos discretos de uma reação nuclear de fusão para auxiliar o ensino de Física em turmas de ensino médio.
