THE TEACHING OF THE SUBJECT PROTECTED AREAS IN THE UNDERGRADUATED COURSES IN BRAZIL: BETWEEN THE NATURAL AND SOCIAL SCIENCES

Resumo: | Abstract: Protected Areas are essential to the conservation of biodiversity, safeguard cultures and encourage the economy, their effectiveness comes from participatory management. Among the Protected Areas are the Conservation Units managed by teams of multidisciplinary professionals. Managers working in these Units are responsible for making conservationist decisions in accordance with the National System of Nature Conservation Units. Higher Education Institutions integrate the lives of these professionals, as many have higher education. The objective of this research was to identify undergraduate courses in Brazil that address the subject of Protected Areas in the curricular matrices of mandatory subjects. The work had an exploratory character with documentary analysis of the Pedagogical Projects of the Courses. 275 undergraduate courses were observed in 113 institutions, 190 with approaches on Protected Areas distributed in 66.66% of the areas of knowledge of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel, with emphasis on the Multidisciplinary area. It was concluded that the course in Technology in Environmental Management is the one with the greatest number of subjects involving the Protected Areas. In general, the area of Social Sciences was the one with the lowest number of subjects that address the theme. Entre las Áreas Protegidas se encuentran las Unidades de Conservación manejadas por equipos de profesionales multidisciplinarios. Los gestores que laboran en estas Unidades son responsables de tomar decisiones conservacionistas de acuerdo con el Sistema Nacional de Unidades de Conservación de la Naturaleza. Las Instituciones de Educación Superior forman parte de la vida de estos profesionales, ya que muchos poseen estudios superiores. Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo identificar cursos de graduación en Brasil que aborden la temática de Áreas Protegidas en las matrices curriculares de asignaturas obligatorias. El trabajo tuvo un carácter exploratorio con análisis documental de los Proyectos Pedagógicos de los Cursos. Se realizaron 275 carreras de grado en 113 Instituciones, de las cuales 190 versaron sobre Áreas Protegidas distribuidas en el 66,66% de las áreas de conocimiento de la Coordinación de Perfeccionamiento del Personal de Educación Superior, con énfasis en el área Multidisciplinaria. Se concluyó que la carrera de Tecnología en Gestión Ambiental es la que presenta mayor número de disciplinas que involucran Áreas Protegidas. En general, el área de Ciencias Sociales presentó el menor número de disciplinas que abordaron la temática. Dentre as Áreas Protegidas encontram-se as Unidades de Conservação geridas por equipes de profissionais multidisciplinares. Os gestores que trabalham nestas Unidades são responsáveis por tomadas de decisão conservacionistas em conformidades com o Sistema Nacional de Unidades de Conservação da Natureza. As Instituições de Ensino Superior integram a vida desses profissionais, pois muitos possuem curso superior. A presente pesquisa teve por objetivo identificar cursos de graduação no Brasil que abordam a temática Áreas Protegidas nas matrizes curriculares de disciplinas obrigatórias. O trabalho teve caráter exploratório com análise documental dos Projetos Pedagógicos dos Cursos. Observou-se 275 cursos de graduação em 113 Instituições, sendo 190 com abordagens sobre Áreas Protegidas distribuídos em 66,66% das áreas do conhecimento da Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior, com destaque a área Multidisciplinar. Concluiu-se que o curso de Tecnologia em Gestão Ambiental é o que possui maior quantidade de disciplinas envolvendo as Áreas Protegidas. Em geral, a área das Ciências Sociais foi a de menor quantidade de disciplinas que abordam a temática.
