Resumo: The present study aimed to delimit the area of the Anajá River Sub-basin, analyze the land use and land cover with the aid of free geotechnologies. The applied methodology consisted in the use of GIS and Qgis Spring, for drainage and thematic maps of Land use and cover, and collecting points through GPS-Global Positioning System. The results indicate that the Anajá River Sub-basin has a third-order canal which originates at an altitude between 50 and 60 m. In which 8 classes of land use and cover were identified . The adoption of GIS allowed the automatic delineation of the area of the Sub-basin of the river Anajá, and quantification of the classes of use and coverage of the Earth, in addition to stating that the areas of urban buildings and farm type crops occupy much of this sub-basin. La metodología aplicada consistió en el procesamiento de imágenes de los sistemas de información geográfica (GIS) antes mencionados, donde se utilizó la imagen Landsat8, DSG Map e imagen SRTM para los mapas de drenaje. Los datos temáticos sobre el uso del suelo y la cobertura del suelo se obtuvieron mediante la recopilación de puntos utilizando GPS e interpretando visualmente las imágenes después del procesamiento. Los resultados indican que la subcuenca del río Anajá, ubicada en la cuenca del río Paciencia, en el municipio de Paço do Lumiar - MA, tiene un canal de tercer orden que se inicia a una altitud entre 50 y 60 m, en el cual se identificó .8 clases de uso del suelo y cobertura del suelo. La adopción del SIG permitió la delimitación automática del área de la subcuenca del río Anajá y la cuantificación del uso del suelo y clases de cobertura del suelo, destacando que las áreas de construcciones urbanas y cultivos tipo roza o quema ocupan gran parte de esta subcuenca.O presente estudo objetivou delimitar a área da Sub-bacia do Rio Anajá, analisando o uso e cobertura do solo com auxílio de geotecnologias livres através dos softwares Spring e QGIS. A metodologia aplicada consistiu no processamento de imagens a partir dos sistemas de informação geográfica (SIGs) referidos, onde para os mapas de drenagem foram utilizados a imagem do Landsat8, Carta DSG e imagem SRTM. Os dados temáticos de uso e cobertura da terra foram obtidos através da coleta de pontos por meio de GPS e interpretação visual das imagens após o processamento. Os resultados indicam que a sub-bacia do Rio Anajá, localizada na bacia do Rio Paciência, no município de Paço do Lumiar – MA, possui um canal de terceira ordem que nasce a uma altitude entre 50 e 60 m, no qual identificou-se 8 classes de uso e cobertura da terra.
