Resumo: This study aims to understand the process of historicization of German immigrants’ language in the region of the Missions of Rio Grande do Sul, reflecting on the policies of linguistic interdiction of Estado Novo. We emphasize how schools, at the time, constituted themselves as an Ideological Apparatus of the State, determining what could and should be said and taught, as well as regulating discursive practices. Therefore, we are based on Discourse Analysis and History of Linguistic Ideas.

Destacamos como la escuela, tiempo, se constituyó como Aparato Ideológico del Estado, determinar lo que se puede y se debe o no se debe decir / enseñar, y regular las prácticas discursivas. Con ese fin, nos sumamos al Sesgo del análisis del discurso y de la historia de las ideas lingüísticas.Neste estudo, interessa-nos compreender o processo de historicização da língua dos imigrantes alemães na região das Missões do Rio Grande do Sul, refletindo sobre as políticas de interdição linguística do Estado Novo. Destacamos como a escola, à época, constituiu-se como um Aparelho Ideológico do Estado, determinando o que podia e devia, ou não, ser dito/ensinado, e regulamentando as práticas discursivas.
