Resumo: | The aim of this article is to identify the group of ritual formulas, whether crystallized or not, that express apologies in different Iberian and American communities and compare the nature of offenses that demand acts of reparation. The analysis involves nine contemporary movies exhibiting eight different urban centers: Cuba, Spain, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Brazil, Argentina, and Colombia. Preliminary results show some differences in the use of apologies between Hispanic and Brazilian communities concerning a) the formulations of the apology and b) the types of offenses demanding apology. In their direct formulations, the apology is necessarily related to the verbal and pronominal system of addressing in the following forms: ustedeo, tuteo, voseo in Spanish, neutralization of tu/você in Portuguese, and the corresponding interpersonal relations in social and cultural context. |

A expressão de desculpas no cinema ibero-americano O objetivo do texto é levantar o conjunto de fórmulas rituais, cristalizadas ou não, que permitem expressar pedidos de desculpas em diversas comunidades ibero-americanas, bem como comparar a natureza das ofensas que demandam atos reparadores. Analisamos uma amostra de nove filmes contemporâneos ambientados em oito diferentes centros urbanos (Cuba, Espanha, México, Peru, Chile, Brasil, Argentina e Colômbia). Como resultado preliminar, observamos que houve algumas diferenças no uso de desculpas nas comunidades hispânicas ou brasileiras quanto 1) a suas formulações e 2) aos tipos de ofensas que são objeto de desculpas.
