Resumo: The paper analyzes the exploitation and appropriation of time of women living with HIV/AIDS in domestic and unpaid care work. The study is qualitative, and its analyzes are based on materialist feminism and critical scholars in the field of HIV/AIDS. The Field research took place in 2020, in a university hospital, in Pernambuco State, Brazil, within-depth interviews, document analysis, observation, fielddiaryandliterature review. It was possible to identify the burden and naturalization of unpaid work and their impacts on self-care processes among the research participants.

A pesquisa de campo ocorreu em 2020, num hospital universitário, em Pernambuco, sendo realizadas entrevistas em profundidade, análise documental, observação, registro em diário de campo e revisão bibliográfica.
