Playing as therapeutic instrument: opinion of the companions

Resumo: The act of playing presents as an important resort for the child to understand the world that surrounds him and what happens with him/her, making the elaboration of conflicts, frustrations and traumas possible. It aimed to investigate the level of approval of volunteer activities directed for hospitalized children and to assess the efficiency of these activities before clinic evolution of the children, in the companions opinion. Descriptive and camp research, carried in a public hospital in Campina Grande-PB, in May 2004.A questionnaire was addressed to the companions of the hospitalized children about volunteer activities developed in a pediatric service. Among 16 subjects of research, 93,75% said that the work reduces the period of admission of children, and the approval for clinic procedures (100%) is favored, interfering in a positive way. All would recommend this work for other institutions that offer care for children and said that the jokes distract the companions and familiar too.The approval of the companions was checked for the volunteer activities directed to internal children. The same happened to the recreation and the jokes that promoted better clinic evolution, reduced the stress caused by the hospitalization and favored the approval of clinic procedures realized.Key words: Hospitalized child; Pediatric nursing; Play therapy; Family; Patient acceptance of health care.

Apuntó investigar el nivel de aceptación de actividades voluntarias se dirigido a los niños hospitalizados y evaluar la efectividad de estas actividades antes de la evolución clínica de los niños, en la opinión del acompañes. La investigación de campo descriptiva, cumplido en un hospital público de Campina Grande-PB, durante mayo de 2004. Se manejó los compañeros de los niños interiores una encuesta con respecto a actividades voluntarias desarrolladas en el servicio de la pediatría. Entre el 16 sujetos de la investigación, 93,75% afirmaron que el trabajo consigue reducir el periodo de la internación de los niños, y que la aceptación a los procedimientos clínicos (100%) está favorecido, mientras interfiriendo de una manera positiva. Todos recomendarían este tipo de trabajo para otras instituciones que dan la asistencia a los niños y ellos afirman que los juegos consiguen también distraer a los compañeros y familia. La aceptación de los compañeros se verificó debido a las actividades voluntarias manejadas a los niños interiores. Al mismo tiempo, los recreos y los juegos promovieron una evolución clínica buena, ellos redujeron la tensión causada por la hospitalización y ellos favorecieron la aceptación de procedimientos clínicos cumplidos.Palabras clave: Hospitalizó al niño; Enfermeria pediátrica; Ludoterapia; Familia; Aceptación de la atención de salud.O ato de brincar se apresenta como um importante recurso para a criança compreender o mundo que a cerca e o que acontece com ela, possibilitando a elaboração de conflitos, frustrações e traumas. Objetivou-se investigar o nível de aceitação de atividades voluntárias direcionadas a crianças hospitalizadas e avaliar a eficácia destas atividades perante a evolução clínica das crianças, na opinião dos acompanhantes. Pesquisa descritiva e de campo, realizada num hospital público de Campina Grande-PB, durante maio de 2004. Foi dirigido aos acompanhantes das crianças internas um questionário à respeito de atividades voluntárias desenvolvidas no serviço de pediatria. Dentre os 16 sujeitos da pesquisa, 93,75% afirmaram que o trabalho consegue diminuir o período de internação das crianças, e que a aceitação aos procedimentos clínicos (100%) é favorecida, interferindo positivamente. Todos recomendariam este tipo de trabalho para outras instituições que prestam assistência a crianças e afirmam que as brincadeiras conseguem distrair também os acompanhantes e familiares. Verificou-se a aceitação dos acompanhantes diante das atividades voluntárias dirigidas às crianças internas.
