Resumo: The research, presented here, aims to understand the social representations of student youth about the school and its link to the formal work. The subjects of the aims are composed for students of the 3rd series of the regular high school of the network schools public education in Administrative Region of Gama-DF. This study is justified through recent research results that have shown a growing process of weakening of the Brazilian school as an element that mediates the insertion of the formal work. The restructuring process of capital, which has become reality in Brazil from the 1980s, caused changes in the production process which consequently negatively impacted the lives of workers. Stands out, in this setting of changes in the working environment, the inclusion of technology in the production space. Structural unemployment was the first and most immediate impact suffered by workers. In addition to structural unemployment, it was preceded, from that moment, an evolutionary and general trend in the labor precariousness process. The changes in the production process required, also a new type of worker, which should have a training based on versatility and flexibility. Thus, the school, attentive to the dictates of capital, decided, from the second half of the 1990s, offer the students a new training model, based on the field of general and abstract concepts. However, in this new context, the differences from the previous pattern of accumulation are not just in demand for a new worker training model. In the golden age of Fordism, which preceded the process of production of capital restructuring, the school's relationship with labor was mediated by the state, which, supported by the ideology of the project of "national developmentalism", aimed to give support to a market that walked towards full employment. There was, therefore, the commitment of the state to ensure employment for those studying. In contemporary reality, remain the importance of schooling for access to formal work. However, in this new context there is no more the intermediation of public power between the school and the formal work. The responsibility for entering the work was transferred to the worker, who should seek to acquire the skills that will make you employable. Thus, the trend is the increasing number of workers who, although they have school education, find it increasingly difficult to enter and remain in the labor market. In this context, the question that arises is: What does the student youth of the 3rd year of high school in Gama-DF search in school education at a time when the school weakens in the mediation with the formal work? The research was conducted during the 2014 school year in three teaching public institutions in Administrative Region of the Gama-DF: High School Center 1, High School Center 2 and High School Center 3. It was elected to the realization this research, the use of quantitative and qualitative methodology. The research instruments consisted of applying questionnaires and conducting structured interviews

It was elected to the realization this research, the use of quantitative and qualitative methodology. Submitted by Cássia Santos (cassia.bcufg@gmail.com) on 2015-10-21T11:52:04Z No. of bitstreams: 2 Dissertação - Maciel Pereira da Silva - 2015.pdf: 5056321 bytes, checksum: b6b2f4856783d12eeed53681ba41a783 (MD5) license_rdf: 23148 bytes, checksum: 9da0b6dfac957114c6a7714714b86306 (MD5)Approved for entry into archive by Luciana Ferreira (lucgeral@gmail.com) on 2015-10-22T12:47:55Z (GMT) No. of bitstreams: 2 Dissertação - Maciel Pereira da Silva - 2015.pdf: 5056321 bytes, checksum: b6b2f4856783d12eeed53681ba41a783 (MD5) license_rdf: 23148 bytes, checksum: 9da0b6dfac957114c6a7714714b86306 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2015-10-22T12:47:55Z (GMT). description The research, presented here, aims to understand the social representations of student youth about the school and its link to the formal work.
