Resumo: The central concern of this theoretical essay turns to issues related to youth, involving expectations of training for life, for work and their relationship with schooling. Historical issues and their consequences on youth experiences are presented, taking into account that youths are constituted from their insertions in sociocultural contexts. Methodologically, it is a research with a qualitative approach, produced through bibliographical research, involving authors such as Leão, Dayrell and Reis (2011), Frigotto (2009) and Peralva (1997) among others. As repercussions, the difference between the school and the youth stands out, reinforcing stereotypes and creating resistance. This mismatch contributes to the thickening of school dropout statistics, especially the occupants of the lower classes who, in addition to the immediate concern with survival, face difficulties caused by the distance between real life and school contents that have no mediation with their experiences.

Apresenta-se questões históricas e suas consequências nas vivências juvenis, levando em consideração que as juventudes se constituem a partir de suas inserções em contextos socioculturais. Metodologicamente, trata-se de uma pesquisa de abordagem qualitativa, produzido por meio de pesquisa bibliográfica, envolvendo autores como Leão, Dayrell e Reis (2011), Frigotto (2009) e Peralva (1997) entre outros. Como repercussões, destaca-se o descompasso aferido entre a escola e as juventudes, reforçando estereótipos e criando resistências. Tal descompasso contribui para o engrossamento das estatísticas de evasão escolar,    mormente, os ocupantes das camadas populares que, além da preocupação imediata com a sobrevivência enfrentam dificuldades ocasionadas pela distância entre a vida real e os conteúdos escolares que não possuem mediação com suas vivências.La preocupación central de este ensayo teórico gira en torno a cuestiones relacionadas con la juventud, involucrando expectativas de formación para la vida, para el trabajo y su relación con la escolarización. Se presentan cuestiones históricas y sus consecuencias en las experiencias juveniles, teniendo en cuenta que los jóvenes se constituyen a partir de sus inserciones en contextos socioculturales. Metodológicamente, se trata de una investigación con enfoque cualitativo, producida a través de una investigación bibliográfica, involucrando a autores como Leão, Dayrell y Reis (2011), Frigotto (2009) y Peralva (1997), entre otros. Como repercusiones se destaca la diferencia entre la escuela y la juventud, reforzando estereotipos y creando resistencias.
