Disciplina de libras no ensino superior a distância: percepção discente sobre o processo de aprendizagem

Resumo: In this work two themes converge: the learning of the Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) as a second language and Distance Learning Education (EaD). The main objective of this investigation is to analyze and describe the students' perceptions about the learning process of the Libras discipline in EaD. The specific objectives are described and analyze, based on the student's perception, the main elements that constitute the Libras learning process in EaD and to present the main difficulties and facilities that students presented during this learning process in the Libras-EaD discipline. This study starts from the following questions: what are the main elements that permeate the learning process of Libras as a second language in the distance modality, according to the student's perception? What are the main difficulties and facilities, in the student's conception, that they presented in this process? Answering these questions justifies the need for this research, which was carried out in the city of Goiânia, in a Higher Education Institution that offers the discipline of Libras in distance education, in the years 2019 and 2020. The investigation is developed with a qualitative approach, through a case study, using quantitative data through a questionnaire applied to one hundred participants and interviews with semi-structured questions carried out with six participants. The answers were treated through thematic analysis (BARDIN, 2002), and based on the communicative approach. The results indicate that one of the greatest facilities for students is related to practical video classes, whose methodology helped them during the learning process in addition to the experience with EaD enabled students to have greater mastery of technological tools. One difficulty and an adjustment to be made according to the data, is the need for a greater workload in the discipline to provide students with longer contact time with Libras. It can be concluded that the Libras-EaD subject fulfills what is proposed well, enabling the first contact of undergraduate students with the language, however, there is a need for some adjustments, especially about the workload of the discipline. And as an adjustment suggestion, it would be the offer of another Libras subject, for example, Libras II, which would continue the current subject, or the offer of Libras extension courses.

O principal objetivo desta investigação é analisar e descrever as percepções discentes sobre o processo de aprendizagem da disciplina de Libras na EaD. Os objetivos específicos são: descrever e analisar, com base na percepção discente, os principais elementos que constituem o processo de aprendizagem da Libras na EaD e apresentar as principais dificuldades e facilidades que os discentes apresentaram durante este processo de aprendizagem na disciplina de Libras-EaD. Este estudo parte dos seguintes questionamentos: quais são os principais elementos que perpassam o processo de aprendizagem de Libras como segunda língua na modalidade a distância, de acordo com a percepção do aluno? Quais são as principais dificuldades e facilidades, na concepção do aluno, que eles apresentaram neste processo? Responder a estes questionamentos, por si só, justifica a necessidade desta pesquisa, que foi realizada na cidade de Goiânia, em uma Instituição de Ensino Superior que oferta a disciplina de Libras na modalidade EaD, nos anos de 2019 e 2020. A investigação é desenvolvida com uma abordagem qualitativa, por meio do estudo de caso, utilizando-se de dados quantitativos por meio de questionário aplicado a cem participantes, e entrevista com perguntas semiestruturadas, realizadas com seis participantes, cujas respostas foram tratadas por meio da análise temática (BARDIN, 2002) e com base na abordagem comunicativa. Os resultados indicam que uma das maiores facilidades dos alunos está relacionada às videoaulas práticas, cuja metodologia os auxiliava durante o processo de aprendizagem, além do que a experiência com a EaD possibilitou aos alunos um maior domínio das ferramentas tecnológicas. Uma dificuldade e um ajuste a ser realizado, de acordo com os dados, é sobre a necessidade de maior carga horária da disciplina, de modo a proporcionar aos alunos um tempo de contato maior com a Libras. Pode-se concluir, então, que a disciplina de Libras-EaD cumpre bem o que é proposto, possibilitando um primeiro contato dos estudantes de graduação com a língua, porém, há uma necessidade de ajustes, principalmente no que se refere à carga horária da disciplina.
