Resumo: | Educators as producers of knowledge and the building of habits and customs that the school will follow during life can also work on developing healthy habits and maintenance of health, provided they are qualified as to education actions, attention, promotion and preventive health of school and of those who make up this scenario. It is a descriptive exploratory study of quantitative and qualitative approach which elected as sample 47 public and private school teachers and aimed to analyze the perception and performance of the same in health education activities and the collaboration of nurses at school. After applying a questionnaire with objective and essay questions, the answers were analyzed with reference to the content analysis proposed by Laurence Bardin. It was possible to identify that educators understand the health education as a tool for obtaining or maintaining health, characterized by encouraging physical activity, healthy eating, disease prevention, among others. The presence of nurses at school before the assistance measures and health education was considered important. We conclude that the activities of a trader is seen as a collaborator in the process of integral formation of students, providing the development of a critical awareness of the health and quality of life. |

Trata-se de um estudo descritivo-exploratório de abordagem quanti-qualitativa que elegeu como amostra 47 educadores de escola pública e particular e teve por objetivo analisar a percepção e atuação dos mesmos nas ações de educação em saúde e a colaboração do enfermeiro na escola. Após aplicação de um questionário com questões objetivas e dissertativas, as respostas foram analisadas tendo como referência a análise de conteúdo proposta por Laurence Bardin. Foi possível identificar que os educadores compreendem a educação em saúde como ferramenta para obtenção ou manutenção do estado de saúde, sendo caracterizada por incentivo de atividades físicas, alimentação saudável, prevenção de doenças, entre outros. Foi considerada importante a presença do enfermeiro na escola diante das ações de assistência e educação em saúde.
