FORMATION AND PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE IN THE FIELD OF PSYCHOLOGY

Resumo: | The quality of professional practice in the field of Psychology has normally been related to the formation provided by courses. However, no totally positive correlation exists between the two terms of this relationship, since both practice and formation are historical phenomena and as such, are determined by the characteristics of the moment in which they are undertaken. This hinders the formation institutes from attaining their target of a formation which can deal with the vicissitudes of professional practice. In its theory, Psychology, as a social and human science, is characterized by the diversity and divergence of the different world views present in society, and which are not always perceived by the professional in formation, to the extent that when they find themselves facing professional practice, they tend to resignify the significance of theoretical formation according to immediate everyday demands. |

Não há, no entanto correlação totalmente positiva entre os dois termos dessa relação, uma vez que tanto o exercício quanto a formação são fenômenos históricos que, como tais, são determinados pelas características do tempo em que se realizam, o que torna impossível às instituições formadoras atingir a meta de uma formação que dê conta das vicissitudes do exercício profissional.
