YOUTH AND DIGITAL CULTURE: REFLECTIONS FROM THE MEME TEXTUAL GENRE

Resumo: This article presents reflections on youth and digital culture. It was decided to approach the meme textual genre and its relations with contemporary youth, specifically with students of the first grade of New High School (NEM) in the context of the Elective Curricular Component “Digital Culture” of a school in the south of Santa Catarina. Therefore, pedagogical practices and their possibilities with the use of the meme textual genre are presented and analyzed from the perspective of Critical Digital Literacy. It was verified that the practice allows the appropriation of the capacities of analysis and interpretation of the memes. I understand memes as a form of communication, very widespread on the internet, especially among young people, as it uses images and short phrases or videos.

Se decidió abordar el género textual meme y sus relaciones con la juventud contemporánea, específicamente con estudiantes del primer grado de la Escuela Secundaria Nueva (NEM) en el contexto del Componente Curricular Electivo “Cultura Digital” de una escuela del sur de Santa Catarina. Por tanto, se presentan y analizan las prácticas pedagógicas y sus posibilidades con el uso del género textual meme desde la perspectiva de la Alfabetización Digital Crítica. Se verificó que la práctica permite la apropiación de las capacidades de análisis e interpretación de los memes. Entiendo los memes como una forma de comunicación, muy extendida en internet, sobre todo entre los jóvenes, ya que utiliza imágenes y frases cortas o vídeos.Este artigo apresenta reflexões sobre juventudes e cultura digital. Optou-se por abordar o gênero textual meme e suas relações com as juventudes contemporâneas, especificamente com estudantes da primeira série do Novo Ensino Médio (NEM) no contexto do Componente Curricular Eletivo “Cultura Digital” de uma escola no Sul de Santa Catarina. Portanto, são apresentadas e analisadas práticas pedagógicas e suas possibilidades com o uso do gênero textual meme na perspectiva da Literacia Digital Crítica.
