THE IMPLICATIONS OF NEOCONSERVATORISM IN FEDERAL PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES: A STUDY FROM THE BOLSONARO GOVERNMENT

Resumo: From the contributions of critical social theory in its Marxist aspect, we aim to problematize federal public universities in the neoconservative scenario that rose in Brazil in mid-2016, legitimizing conservative discourses and the dissemination of the ideals and values ​​of postmodern ideology. To this end, we carried out a literature review and analysis of news linked to the digital media internet published in the first year of President Jair Bolsonaro's term (2019). We conclude that this neoconservative and far-right framework directs the persecution of federal higher education institutions in the name of fighting the riot, the censorship of critical thinking and the devaluation of knowledge produced in the human sciences, as well as the reduction of public investments. Federal Universities.A partir de los aportes de la teoría social crítica en su vertiente marxista, pretendemos problematizar las universidades públicas federales en el escenario neoconservador que surgió en Brasil a mediados de 2016, legitimando los discursos conservadores y la difusión de los ideales y valores de la ideología posmoderna. Para ello, realizamos una revisión bibliográfica y un análisis de las noticias vinculadas a los medios digitales internet publicadas en el primer año del mandato del presidente Jair Bolsonaro (2019). Concluimos que este entramado neoconservador y ultraderechista dirige la persecución a las instituciones de educación superior federales en nombre del combate a la revuelta, la censura al pensamiento crítico y la desvalorización del conocimiento producido en las ciencias humanas, así como la reducción de las inversiones públicas. Universidades Federales.A partir dos contributos da teoria social crítica em sua vertente marxista, objetivamos problematizar as universidades públicas federais no cenário neoconservador que ascendeu no Brasil em meados do ano de 2016, legitimando discursos conservadores e a disseminação dos ideais e valores da ideologia pós-moderna. Para tanto, realizamos revisão de literatura e análise de noticiários vinculados ao meio de comunicação digital – internet – publicados no primeiro ano de mandato do presidente Jair Bolsonaro (2019). Concluímos que este quadro neoconservador e de extrema-direita direciona para as instituições de ensino superior federais a perseguição em nome do combate à balbúrdia, à censura do pensamento crítico e à desvalorização dos conhecimentos produzidos nas ciências humanas, ao mesmo tempo em que buscam a redução dos investimentos públicos.
