Resumo: The aim of the study was to identify possibilities and difficulties that Physical Education (PE) teachers have to use the textbook in their academic practice and verify the involvement of students in activities that use this kind of material. The action research method was used, with the participation of teachers of the last years of middle school. The teachers were favorable to the use of the textbook, provided they have freedom to make changes in the material. As for the students, there was a better acceptance in short tasks. Thus, it is understood that the use of the textbook in PE can offer benefits in the development of classes

Thus, it is understood that the use of the textbook in PE can offer benefits in the development of classesEl objetivo del estudio fué identificar junto con los profesores de Educación Física (EF) escolar posibilidades y dificultades de la utilización de libros didácticos en la pedagogia y verificar la participación de los alumnos durante las actividades propuestas por este tipo de material. Se utilizó el método de investigación-acción, teniendo la participación de los profesores de los últimos años de la Educación Secundária. Los profesores se mostraron conformes con la utilización del libro didáctico, desde que tengan la libertad de hacer modificaciones en el material. En cuanto a los alumnos, hubo mejor aceptación en actividades de poca duración. Por tanto, entende que el uso de libros pedagógicos en la EF escolar puede ofrecer beneficios en el desarrollo de las clasesO objetivo do estudo foi identificar junto a professores de Educação Física (EF) escolar possibilidades e dificuldades de utilização do livro didático na prática pedagógica e verificar o envolvimento dos alunos durante as atividades norteadas por esse tipo de material. Utilizou-se o método da pesquisa-ação, tendo a participação de professores dos anos finais do Ensino Fundamental. Os professores mostraram-se favoráveis à utilização do livro didático, desde que tenham liberdade para a realização de alterações no material. Quanto aos alunos, houve melhor aceitação em tarefas curtas.
