Resumo: This review aims the critical evaluation of the book “Leisure Theories”, ten years after its publication. The book, edited by Giuliano Gomes de Assis Pimentel, has six chapters that directly address leisure in the light of different theoretical matrices, with an emphasis on the Brazilian production on the subject. The work results in a relevant editorial initiative with systematic reflections by experienced researchers in the field of leisure studies. The origin of the articles is marked by intellectual vigor and dense conceptual analysis, in addition to patente methodological coherence. Therefore, it is an intense collaboration to the contemporary debate on leisure theories, preserving its relevance after a decade.

El libro, organizado por Giuliano Gomes de Assis Pimentel, tiene seis capítulos que abordan directamente el ocio a la luz de diferentes matrices teóricas, con énfasis en la producción brasileña sobre el tema. El trabajo tiene como resultado una relevante iniciativa editorial en el campo de los estudios del ocio. El origen de los artículos está marcado por el vigor intelectual y el denso análisis conceptual, además de uma patente coherencia metodológica. Así, se trata de una intensa colaboración con el debate contemporáneo sobre las teorías del ocio y que conserva, después de una década, su actualidad.A presente resenha tem como objetivo estabelecer uma avaliação crítica da obra “Teorias do lazer” transcorridos dez anos de sua publicação. O livro, organizado Giuliano Gomes de Assis Pimentel, conta com seis capítulos que abordam diretamente o lazer à luz de diferentes matrizes teóricas, com destaque para a produção brasileira sobre o tema. A obra resulta numa relevante iniciativa editorial com reflexões sistemáticas realizadas por pesquisadores sérios e com experiência no campo de estudos do lazer. A origem dos artigos é marcada pelo vigor intelectual e análises conceituais densas, além de patente coerência metodológica.
