Resumo: The present study aims to investigate how Physical Education undergraduates perceive the necessary knowledge to perform in Rhythmic Gymnastics during their initial formation. For this, it was divided into two stages. The first step consisted in mapping and discussing the scientific production in the field of GR at national and international level. For this purpose, a state-of-the-art research was developed. The second stage consisted of a research of the type Existential Action Research with undergraduates of the Physical Education course of a private higher education institution. The results signal to superficial experiences with the knowledge of this modality throughout the graduation. Condition that distances future professionals from acting with this corporal practice.

Condition that distances future professionals from acting with this corporal practice.Este estudio tiene como objetivo investigar cómo los estudiantes de educación física perciben el conocimiento necesario para desempeñarse en gimnasia rítmica durante su entrenamiento inicial. Para ello, se dividió en dos pasos. La primera etapa consistió en mapear y discutir la producción científica en el campo de los RR.GG. a nivel nacional e internacional. Para ello, se desarrolló un estado de investigación del conocimiento. La segunda etapa consistió en una investigación de investigación de acción existencial con estudiantes universitarios de educación física de una institución de educación superior privada. Los resultados apuntan a experiencias superficiales con el conocimiento de esta modalidad durante la graduación. Condición que aleja a los futuros profesionales de trabajar con esta práctica corporal.O presente estudo tem como objetivo investigar como os graduandos em Educação Física percebem os saberes necessários à atuação em Ginástica Rítmica durante sua formação inicial. Para isso, o mesmo foi dividido em duas etapas. A primeira etapa consistiu em mapear e discutir a produção científica no campo da GR em âmbito nacional e internacional. Para tanto foi desenvolvida uma pesquisa do tipo estado do conhecimento. A segunda etapa consistiu em uma pesquisa do tipo Pesquisa Ação existencial junto a graduandos do curso de Educação Física de uma instituição de ensino superior privada. Os resultados sinalizam para experiências superficiais com os saberes dessa modalidade ao longo da graduação.
