Cinema in the formation of the geography teacher: an analysis of the characters in the movie “The boy who harnessed the wind”

Resumo: This paper analyzes teaching characteristics which are implicit to the characters of the movie “The boy who harnessed the wind”. The film was compared to the students' teaching experiences. A dialogue about their representations and impacts on their/our practices in the classroom was conducted. We started to write during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in Brazil. Through remote synchronous meetings with students of the degree course in Geography – Supervised Internship Discipline, we used the film as a didactic resource. The results show that the students were impacted by the skills, abilities and attitudes represented by the characters, reiterating practices they considered as positive while others were reprehensible examples. The conclusion demonstrates that the use of films in the education of the geography teacher can be a satisfactory tool when its complementarity is observed, as well as the objectives and adequate didactic-pedagogical mediation. Geography.El objetivo del artículo es analizar las características de la docencia implícito en los personajes que implican los personajes que aparecen en la película “El niño que descubrió el viento”. Comparar la película con las experiencias de enseñanza de los estudiantes, dialogando con ellos sobre sus representaciones e impactos en sus/nuestras prácticas en el prácticas en el salón de clases. La construcción del artículo se empezó durante la primera onda de la pandemia de COVID-19 en Brasil. A través de reuniones remotas sincrónicas con los estudiantes de la licenciatura en Geografía de la disciplina Prácticas Supervisadas, se discutió la conveniencia de desarrollar la propuesta utilizando la película como recurso didáctico. Los resultados muestran que los estudiantes fueron impactados por las competencias, habilidades y actitudes representadas por los personajes, reiterando prácticas que consideraban como ejemplos positivos y otras reprobables. La conclusión demuestra que el uso de la película en la formación del profesor de Geografía puede ser una herramienta satisfactoria cuando se observa su complementariedad, así como los objetivos y la adecuada mediación didáctico-pedagógica. Geografía.O objetivo do artigo é analisar as características do magistério implícitas dos personagens que comparecem no filme “O menino que descobriu o vento”. Comparando o filme com as experiências de ensino dos discentes, dialogar com eles sobre suas representações e impactos em suas/nossas práticas em sala de aula. A construção do artigo iniciou-se durante a primeira onda da pandemia COVID-19 no Brasil. Por meio de encontros remotos síncronos com os alunos do curso de licenciatura em Geografia da disciplina Estágio Supervisionado, discutiu-se a conveniência de se desenvolver a proposta utilizando o filme como recurso didático. Os resultados apontam que os discentes foram impactados pelas competências, habilidades e atitudes representadas pelas personagens, reiterando práticas que consideravam como exemplos positivos e outras reprováveis. A conclusão demonstra que o uso do filme na formação do/a professor/a de Geografia pode ser uma ferramenta satisfatória quando observada sua complementariedade, assim como os objetivos e a mediação didático-pedagógica adequada.
