REPRESENTATION AND TEACHING OF GEOGRAPHY: CONTRIBUTIONS-THEORY METODOLÓGICAS

Resumo: This work has as a purpose to present theoretician and methodological aspects associated to Representation in Education. The used methodology in question, Mental Mapping, is referred by Geography of the Representations. The developed mental maps in this research have showed the representations of Geography constructed by a group of students in 6th grade, evidencing a correspondence among the teacher practice, the school and the geographic learning. Therefore, such methodology, allied to the hermeneutics that is part of the concept of Generation of Ambience Environments, made possible to catalyze the daily practice of the students, as well as the understanding of the concept of geography built by the group. Such events have promoted the learning, supplying subsidies to think - or rethink - some elements and processes belonging to school geography. La metodología en cuestión, el Mapeo Mental, es referenciada por la geografía de las Representaciones. Los mapas mentales desarrollados en esta investigación revelaron las representaciones de Geografía construidas por un grupo de alumnos de la 6ª serie de la Enseñanza Básica, evidenciando una correspondencia entre el hacer escolar desarrollado por el profesor, el colegio e el aprendizaje geográfico. Po lo tanto, esa metodología, aliada a la hermenéutica que prepasa el concepto de Generación de Ambientes, posibilitó catalizar el cotidiano de los estudiantes, así como la comprensión del concepto de geografía construido por el grupo. Tales eventos promovieron el desarrollo del aprendizaje, suministrando subsidios para se pensar, o hasta repensar, algunos elementos y procesos pertenecientes e la geografía escolar. A metodologia em questão, os Mapas Mentais, é referenciada pela Geografia das Representações. Os mapas mentais desenvolvidos nesta investigação revelaram as representações de Geografia construídas por um grupo de alunos da 6ª série do Ensino Fundamental, evidenciando uma correspondência entre o fazer escolar desenvolvido pelo professor, a escola e a aprendizagem geográfica. Portanto, essa metodologia, aliada à hermenêutica que perpassa o conceito de Geração de Ambiências, possibilitou catalisar o cotidiano dos educandos, assim como a compreensão do conceito de geografia construído pelo grupo. Tais eventos promoveram o desenvolvimento da aprendizagem, fornecendo subsídios para se pensar, ou mesmo repensar, alguns elementos e processos atinentes à geografia escolar.
