PATRIMONIAL EDUCATION: A RESOURCE FOR CULTURAL LITERACY IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Resumo: Patrimonial Education is an interdisciplinary teaching proposal focused on relevant issues to the environmental / culture heritage. It may be applied in communities near recognized heritage, such as the ones around the archaeological sites, as well as at schools, with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of recognition, appreciation and conservation of the region heritage. Most communities ignore historical and archaeological wealth in its territory. This paper highlights the Patrimonial Education relevance and its possibilities as an activity to stimulate scientific curiosity about the origins of regional culture. As an alternative to the encouragement of cultural literacy in elementary school, we presented here the "Time-box" - a teachinglearning resource appropriate to work concepts about archeology at the elementary school. Puede ser aplicada en las comunidades cercanas a patrimonios reconocidos, como sitios arqueológicos, así como en escuelas con el objetivo de la sensibilización sobre la importancia del reconocimiento, de la valoración y de la conservación del patrimonio de la región. Una gran parte de las comunidades no conocen la riqueza del patrimonio histórico y arqueológico de sus territorios. Este trabajo destaca la importancia de la educación patrimonial y sus posibilidades como una actividad para estimular la curiosidad científica acerca de los orígenes de la cultura regional. Como alternativa al fomento de la alfabetización cultural en la enseñanza fundamental, se presenta la “Caja del tiempo" - un recurso didáctico pedagógico apropiado para trabajar nociones de arqueología en la enseñanza patrimonial. Palabras-clave: Educación Patrimonial, Arqueología, material didáctico-pedagógicoA Educação Patrimonial é uma proposta interdisciplinar de ensino voltada para questões pertinentes ao patrimônio ambiental/cultural. Pode ser aplicada em comunidades próximas a patrimônios reconhecidos, como sítios arqueológicos, assim como em escolas com o objetivo de sensibilização sobre a importância do reconhecimento, da valorização e da conservação do patrimônio da região. Grande parte das comunidades desconhece a riqueza do patrimônio histórico e arqueológico de seus territórios. Este trabalho destaca a importância da educação patrimonial e suas possibilidades como atividade para estimular a curiosidade científica sobre os primórdios da cultura regional. Como uma alternativa para o fomento da alfabetização cultural no ensino fundamental, é apresentada a “Caixa-do-tempo” – um recurso didático-pedagógico apropriado para trabalhar noções de arqueologia no ensino fundamental.
