Uneven development and road passenger transport: an analysis of the municipality of Goiânia/GO

Resumo: In Brazil, the interstate road passenger transport is considered a public service. It is organized by a public agency, the National Land Transport Agency (“ANTT”), and operated by private agents which manage a wide and combined set of people and cargo’s displacements around the national territory. The interstate road passenger transport is a service with high capillarity, as it connects urban centers of different sizes and uses the road network to carry people and cargo’s flows. Interstate transport reflects uneven development, and it shows a diversity of spatial interactions that take place all over the Brazilian territory. Therefore, this article analyzes the highways of the municipality of Goiânia/GO, its uneven development, and interstate road transport of passengers. The text is organized in three parts which are theoretically based on a bibliographic research. The results were based on population data provided by national public institutions and information about the interstate lines were obtained on the ANTT website in order to support the main article debate. Es un servicio de alta capilaridad, ya que conecta núcleos urbanos de diferente tamaño y utiliza la red viaria para realizar los flujos. El transporte interestatal refleja un desarrollo desigual, ya que aclara una diversidad de interacciones espaciales que se extienden por todo el territorio brasileño. Por lo tanto, este artículo trata sobre el desarrollo desigual y el transporte vial interestatal de pasajeros a partir del análisis de las líneas viales que sirven al municipio de Goiânia/GO. Para ello, se realizó un levantamiento bibliográfico que sustenta las discusiones teóricas surgidas en los tres temas que estructuran el texto. Se utilizaron datos de población de organismos públicos e información sobre linhas obtenidos del sitio web de la ANTT para apoyar el debate. Palabras clave: desarrollo desigual; redes geográficas; organización espacial y transporte interestatal por carretera.O transporte rodoviário interestadual de passageiros no Brasil é um serviço público organizado pelo Estado por intermédio da Agência Nacional de Transportes Terrestres (ANTT) e operado por agentes privados que engendram um conjunto amplo de deslocamentos de pessoas e mercadorias por todo o território nacional. Trata-se de um serviço com alta capilaridade, pois conecta centros urbanos de portes distintos e utiliza a rede rodoviária para a realização dos fluxos. O transporte interestadual reflete o desenvolvimento desigual, pois elucida uma diversidade de interações espaciais que se disseminam por todo o território brasileiro. Portanto, este artigo versa sobre o desenvolvimento desigual e o transporte rodoviário interestadual de passageiros a partir da análise das linhas rodoviárias que atendem ao município de Goiânia/GO. Para tanto, fora realizado o levantamento bibliográfico que alicerça as discussões teóricas ensejadas nos três tópicos que estruturam o texto. Foram utilizados dados populacionais de órgãos públicos e informações acerca das linhas obtidas no sítio eletrônico da ANTT para subsidiar o debate.
