Pronominal variation tu/você in Concórdia - SC: the role of the social factors

Resumo: This paper analyzes the influence of social factors, age, gender and schooling on the use of the personal pronouns tu/você in the speech of speakers from Concórdia  –  Santa  Catarina.  The  study  has  been  supported  mainly  upon theoretical assumptions of variationist sociolinguistics (LABOV, 1972). The sample consists of 24 interviews distributed among two age groups, gender, and  three  levels  of  schooling.  Statistical  analysis  was  performed  with  the VARBRUL  software  (PINTZUK,  1988).  The  overall  findings  indicate  that younger,  male,  and  higher  education  speakers  favor  the  use  of  innovative pronoun você.

Este estudio está apoyado, especialmente, en  los  presupuestos  teóricos  de  la sociolingüística  variacionista  (LABOV, 1972).  La  muestra  fue  compuesta  por  24  encuestas,  distribuidas  por  dos franjas etarias; sexo y tres niveles de escolaridad. Para el análisis estadística de los datos recolectados fue utilizado el paquete de programas VARBRUL (PINTZUK, 1988). Los resultados generales indican que los hablantes más jóvenes,  del  sexo  masculino  y  con  mayor  escolaridad  eligen  el  uso  del pronombre innovador você.Neste artigo analisamos a influência dos fatores sociais, faixa etária, sexo e escolaridade no uso dos pronomes pessoais tu/você no falar de Concórdia – Santa  Catarina.  Este  estudo  está  apoiado,  especialmente,  nos  pressupostos teóricos  da  sociolinguística  variacionista  (LABOV,  1972).  A  amostra  foi constituída  por  24  entrevistas,  distribuídas  por  duas  faixas  etárias;  sexo  e três níveis de escolaridade. Para a análise estatística dos dados coletados foi utilizado o pacote de programas VARBRUL (PINTZUK, 1988).
