Resumo: This paper investigates the hypothesis that it was the launching of the second edition of Torquato Neto’s Os Últimos Dias de Paupéria in 1982 that solidified the association of this author with the character he interpreted in the 1971’s movie Nosferato no Brasil. Taking into consideration the historical moment in which it was launched, that is, the ending of the military dictatorship in Brazil, this paper analyses the ways in which this movie was depicted and referenced in the book.
