Resumo: | The aim of this research is to describe the tourist activity associated with the cultivation of coffee in agroforestry systems in Brazil, highlighting the interactions between the production of specialty coffees and the tourism potential. Monoculture of coffee prevails as the main production model in Brazil. However, there is an observed increase in the production of specialty coffees in diversified systems such as shaded, organic, agroecological, syntropic, and consortium. These practices create room for the incorporation of additional economic activities, including tourism. The research explores the relationship between the production of specialty coffees in agroforestry systems and the development of tourism on the properties. Productive diversification is emphasized, including aspects such as family farming, female production, organic, and agroecological practices, as influencing factors in attracting tourists. To achieve the proposed objective, methods such as bibliographic research, documentary analysis, and the application of questionnaires to coffee producers across the country were employed. The survey, conducted between April and November 2021, focused on four producing regions agroforestry systems: Ceará, Caparaó (ES/MG), Pernambuco, and Rondônia. The results indicate that the agroforestry system for the cultivation of specialty coffee is associated with distinct productive characteristics, such as family farming, female production, and organic, and agroecological practices. The study recognizes the potential for coffee tourism in these properties, even when not formally practiced, revealing the interest of producers in this complementary activity. In conclusion, the adoption of agroforestry systems in the cultivation of specialty coffees not only diversifies production but also presents a significant opportunity for the development of tourism on the properties. The interconnection between sustainable production and tourist attraction emphasizes the importance of integrated strategies to promote more diversified and sustainable practices in the Brazilian coffee sector. It is recommended that future research explore the effectiveness of marketing and management strategies to optimize the tourism potential in properties cultivating specialty coffees in agroforestry systems, considering visitor experience, environmental sustainability, and innovative agricultural practices. |
