e-Val: a prototype for analyzing and evaluating levels of interactivity in technology-enhanced items

Resumo: The work aims to present the instrument “e-Val: Evaluation of Interactivity in technology-enhanced items”, a prototype that diagnoses the levels of interactivity of technology-enhanced items. e-Val is the result of research carried out by the authors from February 2020 to January 2021 and included, in the theoretical-bibliographic review, the definition of the technological and pedagogical elements responsible for the interaction, as well as indicators with relevance indices and criteria with levels of interactivity. Then, the development and prototyping of the instrument and validation through the analysis of digital items available on MathemaTIC and TAO platforms took place. The results obtained showed that the instrument is effective not only to help developers of technology-enhanced items in the planning and design of interactivity, but also to analyze the level of interactivity in items that have already been developed. As for the analysis of the technology-enhanced items available on the platforms, they present varying levels of interactivity. The MathemaTIC platform, aimed at learning activities in everyday school life, features more attractive design, gamification elements, and the use of e-Val pointed to medium and high levels of interactivity. The technology-enhanced items produced by the CAEd/UFJF teams with the TAO platform, on the other hand, have low interactivity. The analyzes showed that there is still a prevalence of the transposition of items developed in print to the digital medium, with a focus on specific content and/or actions in which interactivity is trivialized by objects or clickable response options and linear navigation sequences, as well as rare associations between knowledge, peers or didactic-pedagogical strategies to arrive at possible answers.

El e-Val es el resultado de una investigación realizada por los autores desde febrero de 2020 hasta enero de 2021 e incluyó, en la revisión teórico-bibliográfica, la definición de los elementos tecnológicos y pedagógicos responsables de la interacción, así como indicadores con índices de pertinencia. y criterios con niveles de interactividad. Posteriormente, se realizó el desarrollo y prototipado del instrumento y validación a través del análisis de ítems digitales disponibles en las plataformas MathemaTIC y TAO. Los resultados obtenidos mostraron que el instrumento es efectivo no solo para ayudar a los desarrolladores de ítems digitales en la planificación y diseño de interactividad, sino también para el análisis del nivel de interactividad en ítems ya desarrollados. En cuanto al análisis de los elementos digitales disponibles en las mencionadas plataformas, presentan diferentes niveles de interactividad. La plataforma MathemaTIC, dirigida a actividades de aprendizaje en la vida escolar cotidiana, tiene un diseño más atractivo, elementos de gamificación y el uso de e-Val apuntado a niveles de interactividad media y alta. Por otro lado, los ítems digitales producidos por los equipos CAEd/UFJF con la plataforma TAO presentan baja interactividad. Los análisis mostraron que aún prevalece la transposición de elementos desarrollados en medios impresos a medios digitales, con un enfoque en contenidos y/o acciones específicas en las que la interactividad es banalizada por objetos u opciones de respuesta en las que se puede hacer clic y secuencias de navegación lineal, así como como raras asociaciones entre saberes, pares o estrategias didáctico-pedagógicas para llegar a posibles respuestas.O trabalho tem como objetivo apresentar o instrumento “e-Val: Avaliação da Interatividade em Itens Digitais”, um protótipo que diagnostica os níveis de interatividade de itens digitais. O e-Val é fruto da pesquisa realizada pelas autoras no período de fevereiro de 2020 a janeiro de 2021 e compreendeu, na revisão teórico-bibliográfica, na definição dos elementos tecnológicos e pedagógicos responsáveis pela interação, bem como dos indicadores com índices de relevância e critérios com níveis de interatividade. Na sequência, ocorreram o desenvolvimento e a prototipagem do instrumento e a validação por meio da análise em itens digitais disponíveis nas plataformas MathemaTIC e TAO. Os resultados obtidos mostraram que o instrumento é eficaz não só para auxiliar os desenvolvedores de itens digitais quanto ao planejamento e design da interatividade, como também para a análise do nível de interatividade em itens já desenvolvidos. Quanto à análise dos itens digitais disponíveis nas plataformas citadas, estes apresentam variados níveis de interatividade. A plataforma MathemaTIC, voltada para atividades de aprendizagem no cotidiano escolar, apresenta design mais atrativo, elementos de gamificação, e o uso do e-Val apontou para níveis de média e alta interatividade. Já os itens digitais produzidos pelas equipes do CAEd/UFJF com a plataforma TAO, apresentam baixa interatividade.
