Adolescência e saúde mental: a compreensão da família sobre o transtorno mental e sua influência na adesão ao tratamento

Introduction: More and more teenagers are in danger. However, it is observed that there are few attempts at treatment and care with public health. Objective: To identify the family's understanding of adolescence, mental disorders and their influence on treatment adherence. Materials and Methods: Exploratory, descriptive, qualitative study, developed at the Center for Psychosocial Care for Children and Youth (CAPSi), in Belém do Pará. Data collection took place with 5 family members of CAPSi users, through semi-structured interview data. The data were discussed in Bardin's Content Analysis. Results and Discussion The results found as families: they had difficulties in understanding and dealing with adolescence and mental disorders, in the face of stereotypes. However, participants seek to identify, in help in mental health services, such as suicide. In addition, acting on treatment, also rapid mental health care, being also mental health care. Conclusion: It is considered that the family has an essential role in the mental health care of its adolescents, being therefore important in the effectiveness of the treatment of their health, being therefore important as the effectiveness of health.
