Resumo: The use of arboreal legume phytomass in coffee cropping appears as an alternative way to improve the soil chemical properties and also to reduce production cost. The present paper aims to evaluate the effect of surface application of four arboreal legume phytomass (Cajanus cajan, Mimosa scabrella, Leucaena leucocephala and Acacia mangium) on soil chemical quality and verify the potential to substitute the use of chemical fertilizers (NPK) in coffee cropping under this management. This study was carried out at EPAMIG, in São Sebastião do Paraíso, MG, a Southern Brazilian experiment coffee cropping station. The phytomass of all legumes improved the soil chemical quality, especially Leucaena leucocephala, which also showed potential to reduce costs of NPK fertilizers on coffee cropping.

Editora UFLA2015-08-04info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfapplication/ziphttps://coffeescience.ufla.br/index.php/Coffeescience/article/view/912Coffee Science - ISSN 1984-3909; Vol. 10 No. 3 (2015); 383 - 391Coffee Science; Vol. 10 Núm. 3 (2015); 383 - 391Coffee Science; v. 10 n. 3 (2015); 383 - 3911984-3909reponame:Coffee Science (Online)instname:Universidade Federal de Lavras (UFLA)instacron:UFLAporhttps://coffeescience.ufla.br/index.php/Coffeescience/article/view/912/pdf_192https://coffeescience.ufla.br/index.php/Coffeescience/article/view/912/1446Copyright (c) 2015 Coffee Science - ISSN 1984-3909https://creativecommons.org/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessde Oliveira, Heloísa Misae TavaresAlvarenga, Maria Inês NogueiraMelloni, RogérioCespedes, Juliana Garciada Cunha, Rodrigo Luz2015-08-06T01:37:45Zoai:coffeescience.ufla.br:article/912Revistahttps://coffeescience.ufla.br/index.php/CoffeesciencePUBhttps://coffeescience.ufla.br/index.php/Coffeescience/oaicoffeescience@dag.ufla.br||coffeescience@dag.ufla.br|| alvaro-cozadi@hotmail.com1984-39091809-6875opendoar:2024-05-21T19:53:52.669810Coffee Science (Online) - Universidade Federal de Lavras (UFLA)true
