Resumo: The access of black students to higher education through the quota policy in Brazil results from the struggle and mobilization of the country's black movement as well as external influences. The implementation of Law No. 12.711/2012, the law of quotas in higher education, leads us to other discussions, such as the permanence and preparation of professionals and institutions to receive the racial quota student. Through narrative interviews with eight undergraduate students of FURG, who had their content analyzed through the Documentary Method, it was verified the occurrence of structural and institutional racism in the university, which demonstrates the need for changes in the structure of the university and the implementation of an anti-racist policy by the institution.

La implementación de la Ley n. 12.711 / 2012, la ley de cuotas en la educación superior, nos lleva a otras discusiones, como la permanencia y preparación de profesionales e instituciones para recibir al estudiante de cuota racial. Mediante la realización de entrevistas narrativas a ocho estudiantes de pregrado de la FURG, a quienes se analizó su contenido mediante el Método Documental, se verificó la ocurrencia del racismo estructural e institucional en la universidad, lo que demuestra la necesidad de cambios en la estructura de la universidad y la implementación de un política antirracista de la institución.O acesso de estudantes negros/as ao ensino superior através da política de cotas no Brasil resulta da luta e mobilização do movimento negro do país bem como de influências externas. A implementação da Lei n. º 12.711/2012, a lei de cotas no ensino superior, nos leva a outras discussões, como a permanência e a preparação dos/as profissionais e instituições para receber o/a aluno/a cotista racial.
