Due to the foundation of SINAES – Sistema de Avaliação das Instituições da Educação Superior – created by the Brazilian government in 2004, UFLA – Universidade Federal de Lavras – had the necessity to adjust to a new reality and start a new institutional self-evaluation process. To do so, a UFLA CPA – Comissão Própria de Avaliação – was created, which, among other things, has proposed the introduction of an institutional evaluation computer system to help the process implementation, in a way that it would guarantee the access of all the community involved and also make the job of result production a lot easier from the system data base. The objective of this paper is the modeling and development of the institutional self-evaluation computer system of UFLA. After studying the theory on institutional evaluation area and data base to the World Wide Web (Web) area, the system was developed and put into disposal of the academic community of UFLA. In the end of the data collection, which was done through the new system, a result analysis was made in search of the crossroad of all the information collected and reflecting CPA/UFLA needs. The results obtained with this paper have showed that the computer system contributed to the easier access to the evaluation instruments and to the efficient analysis of the data collected.
