REFERENTIAL EXPERIENCES OF THE BRAZILIAN INDIGENOUS EDUCATION

Resumo: The article presents the concept of referential school, authentic trademark of this study, talks about this mainly when addresses to the referential schools as such, for banning the teaching of the western knowledge with the traditional one. Also brings referential Brazilian indigenous schools of three diff erent regions. Bringing the discussion on the necessity of teaching the traditional knowledge at the indigenous school and not only the universal one such as defended by a trend of the studies on indigenous school education. The historical starting point of the indigenous school education happened in Acre. Both there and in other regions, the developed method at the considered referential schools was Paulo Freire one. The importance of the indigenous school education was paramount in the formation of the indigenous organizations, responsible for the advance of the indigenous rights of the Federal Brazilian Constitution of 1988.

También trae referencias de escuelas indígenas brasileñas de tres regiones diferentes. Trayendo la discusión sobre la necesidad de enseñar los conocimientos tradicionales en la escuela indígena y no sólo el universal como lo defi ende una tendencia de los estudios sobre educación escolar indígena. El punto de partida histórico de la educación escolar indígena ocurrió en Acre. Tanto allí como en otras regiones, el método desarrollado en las escuelas de referencia consideradas fue el de Paulo Freire. La importancia de la educación escolar indígena fue primordial en la formación de las organizaciones indígenas, responsables por la promoción de los derechos indígenas de la Constitución Federal Brasileña de 1988.O artigo apresenta o conceito de escola referencial, marca original deste trabalho, discorre sobre este termo principalmente ao abordar as escolas referenciais como tais, por balancearem o ensino do conhecimento ocidental com o tradicional. Apresenta também escolas indígenas referenciais em três regiões brasileiras distintas.Traz a discussão sobre a necessidade de se ensinar o conhecimento tradicional nas escolas indígenas e não somente o universal como é defendido por uma tendência dos estudos sobre a educação escolar indígena.O ponto de partida histórico da educação escolar indígena aconteceu no Acre.
