ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES AND INFLUENCE ON LEARNING: : perception of tutors in a distance learning degree Course in Biological Sciences

Resumo: The task of planning teaching activities becomes essential in teaching practice. However, most of thetime, the choice of activities is done intuitively and not based on their real influence on learning. Thus, from the perspective of distance tutors, we aim to categorize and understand the impact of evaluative activities on learning. For this, we used an explanatory case study, with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through an online questionnaire sent via e-mail to tutors from three classes of a degree course in Biological Sciences. For each activity,the degree of influence on learning was scored, with the cordel, creation and feeding of blog, seminar and theater as having the greatest impact on learning. Complementarily, the following were highlighted as positive points of the activities: creativity, synthesis, tool, production, knowledge, interaction, playfulness and material; and the negatives: the correct and adequate use of the tools, quality of the activity carried out, especially when related to the content,written text and/or final appearance of the product, following the correctness and quality guidelines and access to the internet. Based on the results obtained, it is possible to identify, in the perception of the tutors, the activities that have the best impact on student learning, as well as inferring on the main mistakes and difficulties of students in other activities, which allows for reflection and reformulation of the planning of activities offered in the courses.

Contudo, na maioria das vezes, a escolha das atividades é realizada de forma intuitiva e pouco fundamentada na real influência delas na aprendizagem. Desse modo, sob a ótica das tutoras a distância, objetivamos categorizar e compreender o impacto das atividades avaliativas na aprendizagem. Para isso, utilizamos um estudo de caso explicativo, de abordagem qualitativa. Os dados foram coletados por meio de um questionário online enviado via e-mail às tutoras de três turmas de um curso de licenciatura em Ciências Biológicas. Para cada atividade foi pontuado o grau de influência na aprendizagem, tendo o cordel, criação e alimentação de blog, seminário e teatro as que tem maior impacto na aprendizagem. Complementarmente, foi destacado como pontos positivos das atividades: a criatividade, síntese, ferramenta, produção, conhecimento, interação, ludicidade e material; e os negativos: o uso correto e adequado das ferramentas, qualidade da atividade desenvolvida, sobretudo quando relacionado ao conteúdo, texto escrito e/ou aparência final do produto, seguir as diretrizes de correção e qualidade e acesso à internet. Tomando por base os resultados obtidos, é possível identificar, na percepção das tutoras, as atividades que possuem melhor impacto na aprendizagem dos estudantes, bem como inferir sobre os principais erros e dificuldades dos estudantes nas demais atividades, o que possibilita a reflexão e reformulação dos planejamentos das atividades ofertadas nos cursos.La tarea de planificar las actividades docentes se vuelve fundamental en la práctica docente. Sinembargo, la mayoría de las veces, la elección de actividades se realiza de forma intuitiva y no en función de su influencia real en el aprendizaje. Así, desde la perspectiva de los tutores a distancia, nuestro objetivo es categorizar y comprender el impacto de las actividades evaluativas en el aprendizaje. Para ello, utilizamos un estudio decaso explicativo, con un enfoque cualitativo. Los datos fueron recolectados a través de un cuestionario en línea enviado por correo electrónico a los tutores de tres clases de una carrera en Ciencias Biológicas. Para cada actividad, se puntuó el grado de influencia en el aprendizaje, siendo el cordel, la creación y alimentación del blog, el seminario y el teatro los de mayor impacto en el aprendizaje. De manera complementaria, se destacaron como puntos positivos de las actividades: creatividad, síntesis, herramienta, producción, conocimiento, interacción,alegría y material; y los negativos: el uso correcto y adecuado de las herramientas, la calidad de la actividad realizada, especialmente en lo que se refiere al contenido, texto escrito y / o apariencia final del producto, siguiendo las pautas de corrección y calidad y acceso a internet.
