Vivenciar a Cidade: uma experiência com o patrimônio cultural através da mediação com a Arte-Educação.

The present research sought to follow the Research Line addressed by the Professional Master Program in Arts - Prof-Arts, which discusses the process of teaching, learning and creation in the arts. Art / Education actions were carried out in order to develop heritage education through cultural mediation in public spaces in the Historic Center of the city of São Luís do Maranhão. And, at the same time, bring the students coming from the Rural Zone to the elements of the world heritage present in the central area of the city. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of the students during the practice of cultural mediation and the actions of urban intervention through artistic creations. And, in this way, to see if they serve as a tool to implement heritage education, in addition to constructing a consistent and permanent dialogue in the everyday of the students on the importance of acting as active subjects, in the reflective dialogue on the preservation of their cultural heritages. This research presents an exploratory, qualitative approach, built through field research and based on bibliographic sources. It resulted in the active participation of the students in the teaching and learning process. It allowed a dialogue with the medium and the cultural repertoire that they already bring with them. Thus, it is concluded that cultural mediation and artistic practices bring the subject closer to his cultural heritages, as well as providing a consistent and permanent dialogue, built through aesthetic experiences with patrimonial assets.
