Sensual politics: the Theater of the Oppressed and the aesthetic dimension in International Relations

Resumo: Artistic creation is a human activity, based on the individual's relationship with the whole. From the studies on aesthetics, science of the sensitive, emotions, sensations and corporeality are introduced in the production of knowledge. In the field of international politics, studies on aesthetics cover alternatives for the perception and analysis of political and social phenomena, in which the arts can be considered elements of communication and expression. Thus, the text will bring the Theater of the Oppressed (TO) and its application in Rangel neighborhood, in João Pessoa/PB (Brazil), to analyze the potential of the arts in the transformation of conflicts. The investigation is structured based on a qualitative approach that incorporates action research, in particular through the use of participant observation as an analytical strategy.

En el campo de la política internacional, los estudios sobre estética abarcan alternativas para la percepción y análisis de fenómenos políticos y sociales, en los que las artes pueden ser consideradas elementos de comunicación y expresión. Así, el texto traerá el Teatro del Oprimido (TO) y su aplicación en el Barrio do Rangel, en João Pessoa/PB, para analizar el potencial de las artes en la transformación de conflictos. La investigación se estructura desde un enfoque cualitativo que incorpora la investigación-acción, en particular mediante el uso de la observación participante, como estrategia analítica.A criação artística é uma atividade humana, baseada na relação do indivíduo com o todo. A partir dos estudos sobre estética, ciência do sensível, introduz-se as emoções, sensações e corporeidade na produção do conhecimento. No campo da política internacional, os estudos sobre estética percorrem alternativas de percepção e análise dos fenômenos políticos e sociais, no qual as artes podem ser consideradas elementos de comunicação e expressão. Dessa forma, o texto trará o Teatro do Oprimido (TO) e sua aplicação no Bairro do Rangel, em João Pessoa-PB, para analisar o potencial das artes na transformação de conflitos.
