SOCIAL IMPACTS OF 2016 EURO FOOTBALL CUP IN THE REGION OF PARIS (FRANCE): LOCAL SPORTS DYNAMICS INDUCED BY MAJOR SPORTING EVENT

Resumo: This article aims to present the partial results of a qualitative and quantitative research carried out during the 2016 Euro Football Cup in the cities of Paris and Saint-Denis in France. Through a methodology aimed at analyzing the social impacts of major sporting events developed by the SPOTS (Sport, Politics and Social Transformations) research group during the 2007 Rugby World Cup in France, the aim is to improve the methods used and to study the social impacts in the short and medium term of 2016 Euro. In addition, we will discuss aspects related to the two cities analyzed regarding festivities, popular participation, social projects contextualized in the event, the role of the organizers and the various appropriations of football. Through these initial analyzes, new studies are foreseen once the field research is completed.

A través de una metodología para el análisis de los impactos sociales de grandes eventos deportivos desarrollados por el grupo de investigación SPOTS (Deporte, Políticas y Transformaciones Sociales) durante la Copa Mundial de Rugby en 2007 en Francia, tiene por objeto mejorar los métodos utilizados y estudiar los impactos sociales a corto y medio plazo de la Euro 2016. Además, se discuten aspectos relacionados con las dos ciudades analizadas en lo que se refiere a las fiestas, la participación popular, los proyectos sociales contextualizadas en el evento, el papel de los organizadores y de los diversos créditos de fútbol. A través de estos análisis iniciales, se han previsto nuevos estudios una vez finalizado el trabajo de campo.O presente artigo tem como objetivo apresentar os resultados parciais de uma pesquisa – qualitativa e quantitativa – realizada ao longo da Euro Copa de Futebol 2016 nas cidades de Paris e Saint-Denis na França. Através de uma metodologia voltada para a análise dos impactos sociais dos grandes eventos esportivos, desenvolvida pelo grupo de pesquisa SPOTS durante a Copa do Mundo de Rúgbi em 2007, na França, pretende-se aprimorar os métodos utilizados e estudar os impactos sociais no curto e médio prazo da Euro 2016. Ademais, serão discutidos aspectos relativos às duas cidades analisadas no que se refere às festividades, à participação popular, aos projetos sociais contextualizados no evento, ao papel dos organizadores e às apropriações diversas do futebol.
