Resumo: This text is inspired by the discussion panel held at the XI ENEO, whose theme was Public University: a project under dispute in contemporary times. The reflections here represent different views about the university, being composed of the initial proposition by José Henrique de Faria, Pedro Demo's and Elisângela de Jesus Furtado da Silva's replies, and finally, José Henrique de Faria's rejoinder. The discussion problematizes the organization's growing loss of autonomy, the historical contradictions and current dilemmas, and expresses faces of distinct political projects. It is considered that what is in dispute is not the public university project, but the project of Transformative Education and banking education, the first as emancipation and the second as reproduction. In this scenario, those who still defend the Public, Free, Quality and Socially Referenced University cannot be inattentive, alienated, omissive and passive before the projects that are in dispute.

Las reflexiones aquí expuestas representan diferentes puntos de vista sobre la universidad, estando compuestas por la proposición inicial de José Henrique de Faria, las réplicas de Pedro Demo y Elisângela de Jesus Furtado da Silva y, por último, la dúplica de José Henrique de Faria. El debate problematiza que lo que está en disputa no es el proyecto de universidad pública, sino el proyecto de Educación Transformadora y la educación bancaria, la primera como emancipación y la segunda como reproducción. En este escenario, quienes aún defienden la Universidad Pública, Gratuita, de Calidad y Socialmente Referenciada no pueden mostrarse desatentos, ajenos, omisos y pasivos ante los proyectos que están en disputa.Esse texto é inspirado na mesa de discussão realizada no XI ENEO, cujo tema foi Universidade Pública: um projeto em disputa na contemporaneidade. As reflexões aqui representam olhares distintos sobre a universidade sendo composta pela proposição inicial de José Henrique de Faria, réplicas de Pedro Demo e Elisângela de Jesus Furtado da Silva, e por fim, a tréplica por José Henrique de Faria. A discussão problematiza a crescente perda de autonomia da organização, as históricas contradições e dilemas atuais e exprimem faces de projetos políticos distintos. Considera-se que, o que se encontra em disputa não é projeto de universidade pública, mas o projeto de Educação Transformadora e educação bancária, a primeira como emancipação e a segunda como reprodução.
