Resumo: Moral harassment at work is experienced by many brazilians and consists of a form of psychological violence through abusive and intentional conduct in which a person or group is repeatedly humiliated, causing several work-related illnesses, such as ulcers, heart attacks, depression and burnout syndrome. The traditional management model of family business is an example of how management systems can favor this practice, given that it presents characteristics as the lack of professionalization, little space for workers' participation in decisions and planning, power and knowledge centralization, male-chauvinism and patriarchalism. Faced with the current regress on the labor laws in Brazil, it becomes even more evident that there is much to be achieved in the field of mental health at work. In this sense, it is necessary that psychology works together with workers and public power aiming for prevention, intervention, promotion and vigilance.
