Resumo: This paper examines the innovative performance of Brazilian industry between 2010 and 2015, based on data from Innovation Survey, which covers companies in extractive and manufacturing industries with 500 or more employees. Our sample is formed by a fixed panel comprising 105 companies that answered at least 20 of the 24 editions of the survey. The results suggest a fall in innovation activities of surveyed companies during the period, measured by the reduction in the rate of innovation between the first quarter of 2010 and the fourth quarter of 2015. However, the main innovation effort indicators, such as expenses in R&D as percentage of revenues and number of employees with doctorate or master degrees, remained relatively stable throughout the period.

Neste trabalho, a amostra analisada consiste em um painel fixo de 105 empresas que responderam a pelo menos 20 edições da Sondagem (de um total de 24 realizadas no período). Os resultados indicam uma queda considerável da atividade de inovação entre as empresas industriais pesquisadas ao longo do período, com a taxa de inovação apresentando um movimento de queda acentuada entre o primeiro trimestre de 2010 e o quarto trimestre de 2015.
