Socio-Environmental Management: Adherence to the Environmental Agenda for Public Administration in Federal Higher Education Institutions

Resumo: This article aims to investigate the socio-environmental actions of federal institutions of higher education in Ceará, taking as a parameter the thematic axes of the Environmental Agenda in Public Administration (A3P). A qualitative study was carried out in four Federal Higher Education Institutions located in the State of Ceará. The results indicate that the most incident actions and practices are related to the quality of life in the work environment axis. In the analysis referring to sustainable constructions, the concern with making sustainable adaptations was evidenced. Finally, it appears that the budget cut makes it difficult to insert social and environmental actions and practices. As a contribution, this study shows that A3P is adequate for dealing with the environmental issue in the context of educational institutions, while allowing critical reflection on the theme as it brings an analysis of how these institutions have been working on their actions socioenvironmental.

Foi realizado um estudo qualitativo em quatro Instituições Federais de Ensino Superior situadas no Estado do Ceará. Os resultados indicam que as ações e práticas mais incidentes estão relacionadas ao eixo qualidade de vida no ambiente de trabalho. Na análise referente às construções sustentáveis, foi evidenciada a preocupação com a realização de adaptações sustentáveis. Por fim, constata-se que o corte orçamentário dificulta a inserção de ações e práticas socioambientais.
