More and more there is a need of references and/or models to be followed by the society towards sustainable development, combining economic development with environmental conservation. Thus, the government becomes the great responsibility in ensuring that development. Your purchasing power and the adoption of criteria and environmental protection practices make not only companies, but also society in general, rethink and adopt new technologies less damaging to the environment. The government must implement actions that allow the criteria internationalization and the adoption of good environmental practices to improve the quality of life also in the workplace. Thus, in 2001, the Environmental Agenda Program in Public Administration (A3P) was created with the "aim of raising awareness among public managers of the importance of environmental issues, encouraging them to incorporate principles and environmental management criteria in their routine activities". In addition, the A3P aims to stimulate reflection and change of attitude of the servers, to promote the economy of natural resources and reduction in institutional spending, reduce the negative environmental impact and contribute to improving the quality of life. The City of Várzea Grande, as an integral and essential part of the public administration, saw the need to adhere to the Environmental Agenda Program in Public Administration to educate their managers as environmental issues and promote replicators servers of good environmental practices to minimize the impacts caused by their daily activities and improving the quality of life. The first stage of this study consisted of bibliographic research in books, magazines, newspapers and internet for knowledge and better understanding of the theme. The second stage consisted of meetings for presentation and discussions on the subject with the following objectives: to present the Environmental Agenda Program in Public Administration (A3P) to servers designated by their respective secretariats; discuss the draft of the A3P’s Internal Regulations; vote the Internal Rules and formalize the Management Committee of A3P. During the meetings, there were reports of timid work carried out in order to promote environmental education within and in the wider community. Despite the difficulties encountered in the course of the A3P deployment process, a positive point observed was the enthusiasm of member servers of the Management Committee over the changes. Along the meetings, we see the concern of these with the main issues of A3P, such as waste paper, plastic cups, electricity and water, the need for using fluorescent lamps, the lack of selective waste collection, etc. Therefore, this study aims to contribute to the implementation of A3P in Várzea Grande city through participation with evaluation.
