Inserted in a corporate context of intense changes, where the demands of managing processes, information, people and knowledge have been increasing competitiveness and the need for adaptation of institutions, the search for a management oriented and aligned to the executed processes has become one of the main survival strategies adopted by the institutions. Although widely adopted, the implementation of BPM projects does not guarantee the elucidation of all organizational problems, or the desired need and satisfaction of customers, and one of the causes may be related to the lack of knowledge of the motivation and objectives that led the institution to invest in a BPM project. Based on this concept, this study aims to identify which triggers and organizational needs motivate the implementation of BPM practices. Through a systematic review, we seek to verify the categories of triggers pointed out in the literature that lead to the implementation of BPM.
