The study of the nursing process in the technical nursing course

Resumo: This article seeks to discuss aspects related to the absence and introduction of the study of the Nursing Process (NP) in the Technical Nursing course. To this end, semi-structured interviews were applied to the nursing teachers of the Technical Nursing course of the Federal Institute of Northern Minas Gerais Januária Campus. The data obtained were organized and categorized according to content analysis, giving rise to three categories of analysis, and discussed in light of the theoretical framework raised. The NP is the scientific basis of care and, although it should be used by all nursing categories, its study remains practically restricted to undergraduate courses. The results achieved indicate that the lack of PE teaching in technical courses can be considered a flaw in the training process and that PE should be addressed theoretically and practically, throughout the course, in several disciplines and during internships, where nursing care occurs.

Para tanto, foram aplicadas entrevistas semiestruturadas aos docentes enfermeiros do curso Técnico de Enfermagem do Instituto Federal do Norte de Minas Gerais Campus Januária e os dados obtidos foram organizados e categorizados segundo a análise de conteúdo, dando origem a três categorias de análises, e discutidos à luz do referencial teórico levantado. O PE é a base científica do cuidado e, embora, deva ser utilizado por todas as categorias de enfermagem, ainda hoje, seu estudo se mantém praticamente restrito às graduações.
