Resumo: | This paper aims to resume the debate about teaching activity as a work process, understood as a process of transformation not only of nature, but also of the human being himself; an activity that, together with language and cooperation, provides new meanings to the relationship between consciousness and reality. However, for a more rigorous analysis of the concept, it is necessary to understand its specifically capitalist forms. With this purpose, we move towards the analysis of the modern meanings of work in Karl Marx, highlighting the processes of alienation and estrangement, as well as abstract work and productive work, in order to confirm the hypothesis that teachers’ work was a typical wage labor in the capitalist mode of production. Then, the text seeks to demonstrate what was the process of flexibilization and precarization imposed on the world of work and its negative impacts on teaching activity, from the productive restructuring that took place after the 1970s. Finally, it seeks a response, even if it is provisional and uncertainty, for the teaching activity, based on the practices of the ancient artisans and crafts masters. |
