Collective Health teaching in undergraduate Physiotherapy: an integrative review

Resumo: College education in Physiotherapy is historically marked by the hegemonic and rehabilitative model. Nevertheless, with the transformations that occurred in Brazil from the Movement for Sanitary Reform, there was a need to review this model of academic training, especially through the insertion of Collective Health as an essential field. The aim of the study was to carry out a survey and to assess the experiences of teaching Collective Health in Physiotherapy courses in Brazil. Herewith, we conducted an integrative review based on articles available in the SciELO and Lilacs databases, published between 2010-2020. Among the main findings, we highlight the theory-practice disarticulation, the lack of a common element in the curricula, and the reproduction of the curative model in undergraduate courses. Therefore, we consider it essential to review the teaching precepts in Physiotherapy courses in Brazil, in order to provide training that is epistemologically aligned with the Unified Health System and the health reality of each region, based on institutional and collective efforts to overcome these challenges.

Sin embargo, las transformaciones surgidas en Brasil a partir del Movimiento de la Reforma Sanitaria trajeron la necesidad de revisar esta formación, sobre todo mediante la inserción de la Salud Colectiva como campo esencial. El objetivo del estudio fue realizar un relevamiento y análisis de las experiencias de la enseñanza de la Salud Colectiva en los cursos de Fisioterapia en Brasil. Para ello, se desarrolló una revisión integradora a partir de los artículos disponibles en las bases de datos SciELO y Lilacs, publicados entre 2010-2020. Entre los principales hallazgos se destaca la desarticulación de la teoría con la práctica, la falta de un elemento común en los planes de estudio y la reproducción del modelo curativo en la graduación. Por ello, es fundamental la revisión de los preceptos de la enseñanza, a fin de brindar una formación epistemológicamente de acuerdo con el Sistema Único de Salud y con la realidad sanitária, fundamentada en los esfuerzos institucionales y colectivos para superar estos desafíos.A formação superior em Fisioterapia se encontra historicamente marcada pelo modelo hegemônico e reabilitador. No entanto, as transformações emergentes no Brasil, a partir do Movimento pela Reforma Sanitária, trouxeram a necessidade de revisar essa formação, sobretudo no que diz respeito à inserção da Saúde Coletiva como campo essencial. O objetivo do estudo foi realizar um levantamento e a análise das experiências do ensino de Saúde Coletiva nos cursos de Fisioterapia no Brasil. Para tanto, foi desenvolvida uma revisão integrativa com base em artigos disponíveis nas bases SciELO e Lilacs, publicados entre 2010-2020. Dentre os principais achados, enfatiza-se a desarticulação teoria-prática, a falta de um elemento comum nos currículos e a reprodução do modelo curativista na graduação.
