Graduate students report in Science Teaching and Mathematical Education about academic education aspects in times of pandemic

Resumo: The aim of the study was to investigate the perceptions of graduate students in Science Teaching and Mathematical Education regarding their academic education in the current pandemic scenario. Fifteen postgraduate students in Science Teaching and Mathematical Education from a public university in southern Brazil were interviewed. The interviews were transcribed and submitted to the Discursive Textual Analysis procedures establishing three categories: 1) possibilities of academic life during the pandemic, 2) limitations of academic life during the pandemic and 3) expectations of academic life after the pandemic. From these, subcategories still emerged and allowed to interpret the perceptions of the graduate students regarding different aspects. The obtained results indicated that, although academics show greater limitations at that moment, they managed to reinvent their routines to continue their academic activities, understanding the remote system as a possibility for the continuation of their training as graduate students.

Se entrevistó a 15 estudiantes de posgrados de un programa de Enseñanza de las Ciencias y Educación Matemática en una universidad pública del Sur de Brasil. Las entrevistas fueron transcritas y sometidas a los procedimientos de Análisis Textual Discursivo, estableciendo tres categorías: 1) Posibilidades de la vida académica durante la pandemia, 2) Limitaciones de la vida académica durante la pandemia y 3) Expectativas de la vida académica después de la pandemia. Aún surgieron subcategorías que permitieron interpretar las percepciones de los estudiantes de posgrado sobre diferentes aspectos. Los resultados encontrados indicaron que, a pesar de que los académicos muestran mayores limitaciones en ese momento, lograron reinventar sus rutinas para continuar con sus actividades, entendiendo el sistema remoto como una posibilidad en la continuidad de su formación como estudiantes de posgrado.O objetivo deste estudo residiu em investigar as percepções de pós-graduandos em Ensino de Ciências e Educação Matemática a respeito de aspectos da sua formação, no atual cenário pandêmico. Foram entrevistados 15 pós-graduandos de um programa de Ensino de Ciências e Educação Matemática de uma universidade pública do Sul do Brasil. As entrevistas foram transcritas e submetidas aos procedimentos da Análise Textual Discursiva, estabelecendo-se três categorias: 1) Possibilidades da vida acadêmica durante a pandemia, 2) Limitações da vida acadêmica durante a pandemia e 3) Expectativas da vida acadêmica após a pandemia. Destas, ainda emergiram subcategorias que permitiram interpretar as percepções dos pós-graduandos em relação a diferentes aspectos.
